Managing Distractions

In order to give of our best and be our best, we must learn to manage distractions. Wherever you are called to serve, understand the environment in which you function and identify those "distractions" that can lead you off course.

When you are on the job, understand that it is ministry and it is a service that you are being paid for, in most cases. As a result, seek to minimise those distractions that will prevent you from giving of your best and being accountable for the responsibilities entrusted to you.

What consumes your time away from purpose? Is it gossip, is it your phone, lack of proper time management due to procrastination? How are these distractions preventing you from having a productive day?

Prioritise the things that demand your attention in order for you to meet your responsibilities and give quality service. Whether you are being treated fairly or not, "you" are the brand that you are seeking to build and promote. At the end of the day, the integrity of your name and the ethical values you embrace is what will bring you before great men and cause you to advance.

It is never about what others are doing and seeking to blend in with the crowd, or to hold back on what you have been gifted to do, to spite anyone. Distractions come to lead you away from purpose and productivity, learn to manage them. Failure to manage distractions will cause them to consume you and leave you wanting.

What are you distracted by today? How can you manage those distractions so that you can be your best self everyday, not to impress anyone, but to increase your own value so that you can make a difference wherever you go?

Ponder on these things.

Blessings on your week and I encourage you to stand up and be your best self in the midst of adversity. You will be happy you did and will be more satisfied in life.
